About the role

Own the end‑to‑end reporting platform that turns AXI's portfolio data into Goal Reports, Search Reports, GFE Reports, Vendor CSVs, Utilization Plans, and Utilization Reports — the artifacts agencies, primes, and certified firms actually file under -15‑A.

What you’ll do

• Architect and build the reporting layer end‑to‑end — Django models, Postgres queries, async pipelines, and React presentation.
• Design and ship report templates per authority (DASNY, HCR, SUNY System Administration) — each with its own goal logic, validation, and PDF/CSV output.
• Tighten the loop between live data and reports: utilization, payments, GFE outreach, and waiver evidence should hydrate the report set in real time.
• Partner with the compliance team to translate state‑specific rules (Article 15‑A, NYCRR - 141) into deterministic, testable code.
• Profile and improve query performance against multi‑million‑row Postgres tables; introduce caching and async patterns where they earn their keep.
• Mentor mid‑level engineers; raise the floor on testing, observability, and code review across the team.

What we’re looking for

• 7+ years of full‑stack experience, including production Django/Python at scale.
• Deep Postgres — query planning, indexing strategy, and partitioning beyond the basics.
• Hands‑on with React (TypeScript) and modern bundling; comfortable building data‑dense UIs.
• A real point of view on observability, testing, and incident response in a regulated environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Redis and RabbitMQ in production message pipelines.
• Public‑sector or compliance‑adjacent SaaS background.
• Mapbox / Deck.GL / Chart.JS or comparable data‑viz library experience.
• AWS deep cuts: RDS tuning, ECS/Fargate, IAM, CloudWatch.

Compensation & benefits
